[Need Info] Extract Audio From YouTube Video.

Anyone happen to know if there is a program (preferably free) that will extract the audio from a video, like YouTube and save just the song?

Don't bother with the "Super" unless you like headaches.
It's OK, but a little obsolete compared to what's available now.
save2pc free is easy to use, if you want to do other web sites, they have a version to purchase.

I use SUPER, it works great for this and a whole lot of other things. No need for other programs.

The audio extractor looks interesting. Of course, you really don't need these programs. You can just do what I have always done and just record (capture) the audio with any software that captures whatever is played through your speakers. I use Mediasource--Soundblaster's recorder.

I tried that one. Was very easy and fast. The only thing wrong was the song Gloria sounded like it was recorded by Alvin and the Chipmunks.

That's bizarre! I've never had anything like that happen! Hmmm......

What a useless program. First of all, it will only save the video file, which is not what the OP wants to do.

Second, they want to CHARGE for something you can do for free, without any software? I can do everything the pay version does from here:
»keepvid.com/

And if I want to convert it, I'll use SUPER, which is not obsolete in the least.

After I played with it , I FINALLY figured out how to use "Super".. The only problem I have is the volume; in the original YouTube flv file, the volume is "louder". When I "super" the file, the resulting audio file is "quieter". I have to raise the volume on the mp3 player all the way up to "play" it at a respectable level. Will all the other converters do this too, or is this a "Super" problem?

Thanks
Jim

In my opinion, it is not worth the trouble of gathering songs on Youtube. Problem is not the difficulty. It is the quality. Everything there is in MONO. Unless the tune is obscure, it is more worthwhile to just search for mp3's on the web.

It's not a "SUPER problem" at all.
It simply has to do with the way your volume levels are configured or the way different apps set the Windows audio levels.

In the 'Other options' of SUPER you can adjust gain levels, if desired.
Though if you ever get your Windows audio levels uniformly adjusted, the gain you've given SUPER-encoded media files will then be too loud, and possibly distorted.
