There is some work done, but the devices are not very similar at all.
Different bootloader, different CPU, just from very quickly looking at
the bootlog. Good news is, it does run the more modern Linux 2.6
kernel. Bad news is, the LAN ports don't work, but the WAN port does.

Are you using one of my kernels? Please email me! my username at scottn.us. I don't know where else you'd get an lzma-loader wrapped kernel anyway...

I don't subscribe to this thread, just happened to be reading it again...

I did originally hardcode the lzma-loader for FLASH offset 0x40000+4kb.. I have fixed this in my latest build. It is good kernel if you want to extract it from my openwrt image. It now has super fast RAM loader and will use a command line from U-boot environment (set bootargs).

'printenv' and 'help' does what it promises, and is helpful.

Just be careful, and DON'T TOUCH FLASH BETWEEN 0xB0000000 and 0xB0040000, that is where u-boot and your environment variables are.

Step 1:
set ip address and tftp server address, verify with ping. For some reason, it only works if the tftp server is connected to the wan port.
# setenv ipaddr=
# setenv serverip=
Step 2:
erase flash:
# erase 0xb0040000 0xb03effff
This will erase enough to fit a 2.2MB image.
Step 3:
Flash it:
# tftp 0xb0040000
Step 4:
Boot it:
# bootm 0xb0040000

The image can be tftp'd to 0x0 in RAM and ran from there, but the LZMA loader looks for the compressed kernel image somewhere else, and i'm currently too lazy to do the rest.
I'll post my complete environment and stuff once i can boot from tftp properly.

I am posting this using my phone as my internet connection, via USB to my router. YESSSS!!! hah. finally.... tho only .5Mbps when I would get twice that with less signal connected directly to my laptop... kernel 2.6 has much better support for USB networking, but none for the ADM8668 ...

Backport usbnet, or forward port ADM8668 to 2.6... hrm?

So if the hardware is the same (minus sim card slot + usb) hopefully this is helpful to someone who is more knowledgeable in figuring this out.

It looks like this device has indeed ADM8668 processor. Searching the web I came to this link where the board of the device is shown.

From pics the device FCC ID is HEDVG2211I ( FCC database search shows this as an Accton device, however internal pictures show that another VOIP chip is used here, not VINETIC ).

Grandstream HT502 could be a device with a VINETIC VOIP chip solution, but I could be wrong.

Of course, after the SIM card readers are gone, and USB is there, you have a great router (Tho it'd be much easier to buy one with USB already, but the point is making do with what you have!). But of course the ultimate goal, for many, is SIP.

I'm not searched datasheets and whatnot yet, but from the looks of that Test Demo someone pasted, and someone else mentioning a similar router that uses SIP on same chip, outlook is good.

So other routers do SIP and USB, the goal is getting this router to do it because --- They're practically giving them away anymore. T-Mobile is closing the doors on @Home service. The good hacks usually come around once a hardware has pasted it's useful commercial life, so ... It's late, I'm very glad I found this thread, and tomorrow at work I'll have lots of reading to keep me busy -- staring at a blank screen or playing FishVille doesn't entertain me for long. lol.
