Sure in theory it's faster but IF (that's a big IF) you can even get a 3G signal, data crawls at a snail pace compared to WiFi.
Besides free WiFi is everywhere!
I don't see how this is "barely faster than dial-up"
EV-DO is "3G"
I don't get 3G at my house on my iPhone but i get about the same speeds driving into town....
WiFi is faster but on the go, 3G is fast. I stream a 192k radio station to and from work w/o any problems. And free WiFi everywhere? I only get free WiFi at work or at McDonalds/Starbucks b/c i have a iPhone and a AT&T DSL line. Other than that its 3G all the time.
