$30 a month for all movie channels, which is a very good deal considering that all 26 HBO/MAX channels are in HD and all available HD Showtime and TMC channels are carried. $30 is a steal... get them all. A buck a day for all that HD. Good stuff.

I agree, it is a good price. HD movies on a nice TV look better than a standard DVD movie. Wish the option to save more than 20 hours of HD movies was available without having to go the Tivo STB route.

Also, you can always call and change this at anytime with no impact to your bundled promotional savings. So you can easily try it for a couple of weeks and see if how it goes.

If I looked at it as "a buck a day" then it would be a no brainer. But I look at it as $360 a year or over a $1,000 for 3 years! There's a lot of much cooler things I could spend that money on. Heck, I could get:
a) A new 40" LCD
b) Blue Ray player and a new laptop
c) A Wii, a Roomba, and a Remote Car Starter.
d) A TivoHD with 3 years service and Netflix subscription for 3 years

$1,000 for 3 years is pretty steep for what you get if you ask me.

These days, a fast food meal for two is approaching $15... and that is just one meal for two. Go out to a mediocre dinner with one drink each and you are looking at $45 or more with tip at Chili's, and again, that is just one meal. The average person eats three meals a day times 30 days is ninety meals a month. Granted, most don't go out for every meal, but, consider the FACT that those movie channels are the equivalent of two fast food meals for a married couple or less than one meal out at a sit down place like Chili's. $30 for all the movie channels is a bargain my friend.

It depends on how you get your movies. If having this service limits the amount of movies you rent, which are usually inferior standard DVD's now, it can actually save you money. If I record and watch 2 movies a week, that more than covers the rental cost for me at Hollywood Video for 2 movies. I don't rent movies too often, as the delay from DVD release to when they appear on the movie channels has shortened a great deal. If you stop renting DVD's, it only takes a few months until most of the new releases on the FiOS premium movie channels are all fresh and new to you.

If you absolutely have to see the newest movies the minute they release, than a premium movie channel subscription may not be too beneficial.

I am the type that rarely enjoys watching a movie after I have already seen it once. I would never purchase a DVD. I have no interest sitting through a movie again unless it has been a very long time between viewing sessions. That said, I do find myself interested in watching movies again just to see them in high definition for the first time. This is where the premium movie channels shine for me. I can watch lots of older movies in HD whereas I can only rent a standard DVD for the same movies.
