Re: [Other] .nt file extension association If adding association to .nt breaks the DOS-APP, then it is something new to me. You may have make a mistake in the edit. There is a copy of config.nt and autoexec.nt in the c:\windows\repair folder, copy them back to start over. This time, use cmd and edit.com to make changes.
May also try to delete the association under My computer -> tools -> folder options -> file types.
