Hello folks,
Does anyone in here run an extension of your home network across MoCA 1.1 (270Mbps)? I'm wondering what real world throughput you see from a MoCA connected PC to another MoCA connected PC? |

Slingbox on a NIM-100 via coax to the Actiontec router to the Netgear via ethernet to the PC via ethernet gives me 1800k streaming, but that limit is established by the Slingbox, I think.
I could hook up a ethernet connection to another PC at the NIM-100. Is that what you have in mind? |

(I want to replace an 802.11n wireless bridge with two MoCA 1.1 devices.) |

| reply to Matt I ordered and installed two NIM-100's and just wanted to update this with my results for future reference.
I am able to achieve about 90Mbps from my home server to my laptop, so I imagine I am seeing the full 100Mbps throughput of the NIM-100 devices. The NIM-100's do add about 4ms of latency from the device downstairs to the device upstairs attached to my gateway, but no biggie.
I am shocked they work at all considering I had to cut, strip, and attach a coax connector to the line for the upstairs room. |
