You may also want to look at pre-paid options... For example net10 has a good deal ($.10 per minute no contract, no BS), but their service is limited to a small lineup of phones. This is my option, otherwise, I'd be buying a device to do VOIP over wifi, but I can't see outlaying $150-400 for such a device right now. Maybe when the technology matures a bit more, or unlimited cell phone voice goes below $50 a month *in my area*, which ever comes first.
