said by maartena :said by plvick :But I am not, your making an assumption again... one that is off-topic, again. But we could talk along these lines if you wish. The thing is, even the assumption that the main purpose of my message was to complain, is not the case either. Then what about the situation is not clear enough to you that you need to open a topic about it? Are you kidding? I have yet to talk about anything related to my original message and topic at all. Did you read it?
Trust me, I did my due diligence here. A new topic in this forum is justified. |

You might just reread my first message. If not for this legality stuff we have all discussed in depth, nothing I mentioned in that message has been addressed. Seriously, I don't know how I could be more clear. Perhaps I should specifically request that we talk about nothing that anyone has said so far, and talk about everything else instead? All that has been discussed is legal/ethical/etc. If you guys really want to talk about that then fine, okay, whatever. |

2 edits | What is your fact and why let me know it? That my line belongs to RR and I in fact "rent" the use of it? Or what? We could argue sablantics all you want.
In any case whatever your talking about most likely is not related to anything on topic, just like all this other nonsense I have gotten out of this Forum. |

I don't really see it as a "problem" either.
Moral of this story is that if you had not broken the law, this post would never have been here. |

Let's just say I've gotten more than a couple of these notices by more than one provider in the last 5 years, it's nothing new and all have been accurate. The ISPs all have sections in there TOS and AUP that covers them for this sort of thing...
Concering the disconnections, is the modem loosing sync? What are your modem levels? |

The moral you cite is still based on the inaccurate assumption that I broke the law, which is the problem. |

This is intentional, RR is doing it. Sometimes the connection will completely reset itself, other times they just throttle my bandwidth. I posted the topic because I just realized how stupid it is for them to do and a whole slew of info I now need. In fact, I still need to figure out the best way to study it over time... and figure out what to do about it. |

What may look like throttling and connection resetting may just be caused by poor signal levels. |

1 edit | This is indeed throttling, I am really uninterested in determining IF that is the case. I could go on and on about poor signal levels. Finally, I can tell you that is not what this is about. I would have to look up an IP for you, and I kinda don't want to ping it again since they kill (reset) my line for doing so, but if that interests you I will look it up. Just PM me for it. Thanks for a sane exchange, for a change.
So... I guess my next step to watch what they are doing to my line is get some good monitoring software? Any suggestions? |
