| [southeast] Installation today after foot of snow
Hey everybody. My Fios installation is scheduled for sometime today. We've had a couple of inches of snow fall here in Rockland and I'm wondering if this will be a problem for my tech. Is there anything I can do before he comes to help him out? |

| Just keep the hot coffee brewing. His only problem may be finding the fiber terminal out in the right-of way should it be a handhole. From your picture it looks like your existing telco service is buried, so would guess the fiber drop is as well. No worries though, he'll make it happen!

2 edits | reply to grizzlyman We've discovered that the contractor that Verizon contracts out to install the underground lines had scheduled it for tomorrow, so the drop is not already in place. We're going to go ahead and install the ONT anyway, and just have it all connected another day. |

1 edit | reply to grizzlyman As shown in the photo with the utility runs indicated, just remeber, "Don't eat yellow snow!"
Also: Better hope they get it installed before the snow melts, otherwise they'll have to com out again and remark everything... -- Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected. -- Red Buttons |

1 edit | reply to grizzlyman Have the tech lay a temp above ground and complete the install. If the do that here, the contractor has to place conduit, whereas they just direct bury the fiber if the install wasn't completed yet. Having the conduit protects it a little more in the case any landscaping errors. Besides, they will probably put a ticket in to place the fiber in the conduit without you needing to be home anyway. |
