What is up with speeds lately?

I'm reliably seeing speeds like this: »www.speedtest.net/result/377556992.png

Most notably during peak usage hours. I'm assuming this is the traditional cable bottlenecks coming into play during peak usage, right?

Let me check it out and see what I can find.

Can you run speedtests to speedtest.compton.net and speedtest.cogeco.net and tell me what you get?

It looks like a couple nodes are getting a bit over-saturated... Early in the new year we'll be increasing the capacity of said nodes by about 40%, which should clear up any issues.

I appreciate your response and Compton's actions. I still am noticing even further degraded speeds, and will be looking forward to your implementation of upgrades.

Here's a speedtest I just completed for proof:

You wouldn't be able to give me a date when these upgrades can be completed by, would you? I have people in my household growing impatient and am considering switching to a DSL based service.

Thank you.

Hello. If you're having trouble with speeds please contact Technical support at 905-985-8171. I'm sure someone there will be able to help you.

j9 is one of our techs, call in and she or someone else can troubleshoot the speeds you're seeing. Node congestion or not, 1.3 Mbps in our network is too slow.
