Park and Rec

The article makes it sound like the Park and Rec board took some action to block the installation of the wireless equipment. They did not, they already had policies in place which preclude the installation. No one at the City or USI bothered to check for permitting or to consult the Park board. Now the city and USI are pushing the park board to make a contract with USI in a hurry.
This is an over-site in planning, at the first moment they considered installing equipment in the parks, they should have engaged the Park Board.
The wireless is doing fine without the rest of the covereage, but to complete the project to its goal, they parties involved will have to work something out. In addition to the installation of 42 more Wireless Access Points, a lot of those light poles will also have to be replaced in order to be strong enough for the equipment.
You can view the park board meeting as I did at: »www.minneapolisparks.org/default···alid=523
