Trying to get VOIP working on Highspeed Wireless Internet provided by Storm.ca. I have the VOIP congig'd and receive really well..tx out from phone is choppy. Any ideas as to cause and what the fix might be? Am using acanac.ca for VOIP and Linksys PAPT-2 ATA for VOIP gateway/phone adapter. |

| reply to Rural VOIP Either packet loss or jitter. Most likely jitter if you're dealing with Storm. Their network from what I've heard isn't the most stable in *SOME* areas. Wireless doesn't get along well with VOIP unless it's very well tuned or they're using very expensive stuff. (And that doesn't take into account network management)
Run some of the voip quality/speed tests and see what you get for results. |
