| Tyranny by contract.  Consumers all over the world are suffering from tyranny by contract. Secret agreements have been used to repeal fair use. The majority of DRM systems were put in place by private agreements between copyright holders and hardware/software manufactures. Remember that the MPAA would not allow release of DVD's containing their movies without a copy protection system. The copyright holders paid off world government officials to pass laws which included sanctions, to prohibit circumventing the DRM Systems. World citizens are being treated like criminals by the fascist world governments who pass laws without providing a balance to assure citizens fair use rights. Copyright holders have constantly lied to consumers representing that as long as everyone pays for their creations prices will go down. In one observes what has happened with Microsoft operating systems one will see in fact once Microsoft had in place a method to unconditionally enforce their policies, prices in fact increased because Microsoft was in fact were able to enforce their monopoly position. The next step is to try to force ISP's to enforce copyright holders policies at the ISP's expense. If the MPAA and RIAA are not successful at strong arming the ISP's into enforcing their rules, I am sure they will pay off, sorry Lobby government officials to pass laws requiring ISP's to enforce their rules with no compensation going to the ISP's. |
