[Availability] Still waiting for DSL...

I've been living here for over 22 years. I don't want to move for 1 service but it seems like the service I need the most. Like most people these days I do alot of my tasks online and with dial up it isn't easy. I don't know how much time I have wasted on dial up but I can tell you its many years I'll never get back. If I absolutely have to move then I will, but if there is ANY hope at all of DSL comming to my area please someone tell me.

Satellite doesn't meet my online needs. Sure it would be an upgrade but for the price it isn't worth it. Wireless ISP isn't available for me either or atleast not from what I know but I may be wrong. Does anyone know a WISP of any kind in my area?

Being stuck stuck on dial up for this long is inhumane. Wired internet broadband should be available for everyone. Dial up should be banned due to its extremely slow speeds and unreliable connections.

I've always believed the option to have broadband internet access should be guaranteed by federal and/or state law... but yeah that's not happening- nothing is guaranteed

Does anyone have any information as to when DSL will be available to me?

Well Angie is rather out of the way as far as towns go. And Washington Parish is rather under developed. It may be a couple years for DSL.

Did you ever look into a fractional T1 or 128k ISDN?

Fractional T1 is still costly isn't it? And I checked a long time ago for ISDN it was not available from what I found or it was but the equipment and monthly fee wasn;t far from T1 pricing.

Well, if we provided broadband to everywhere where even ONE soul was breathing, we'd be bankrupt and/or having to charge out the nose for service!

If you don't like it, move.

Its nto like I am the only person who lives where I do and DSL is within eyes distance from my house. So ATT has NO REASON AT ALL to not offer DSL to me.
