For my office. I would have 2 computers, my WHS box and a server for VMWare. Monitor, keyboard and switch and firewall as well. I'm just worried about the heat. It looks okay though. Plus it's white and not black whcih the rest of my office furniture is.

| Re: I was thinking about this The lack of adequate space for a mouse beside the keyboard is the biggest downside.
Unless you get yourself a tiny keyboard, i.e. drop off the numpad, youre going to be forever repositioning your mouse to move the cursor from one side of the screen to the other.
Unless you dont use it as a workstation as they suggest, but just as a "server cupboard", then it probably wont matter.

| Too small. Set up the machines to start with no keyboard, mouse and video and then remote into them. You need more space to work, and if you are going to use them as whs and vmware you wouldn't be using them directly anyway.

| This is similar to a 19 inch comm rack which we have hardware management consoles located inside and I'll say this.
It's a witch to use the keyboard and mouse. I usually have to put the mouse behind the keyboard to use both.
Stay away unless you like being uncomfortable.

| Re: I was thinking about this Yeah, I won't be sitting on it sice the boxes will be headless? I have a 17 inch flat panel to put inside and a keyboard and mouse. I have a small rack now that holds everything it just doesn't match the rest of the office decor. I leave it for now, I forgot I have a 2U APC that will have no place in that setup. | |
