Re: [POLL] 2009 Wireless Service Provider

Virgin Mobile and AT&T here.
VM works inside, AT&T does not.
While at home, I use VM - for obvious reasons.
When I go somewhere, I use AT&T.

So, since I rarely go out, I had to choose VM.

If I am not mistaken I thought Alltel was sold to Verizon Wireless as of January 9th? But because of my location we are pretty limited. Verizon Wireless does pretty well here.

I went back to Verizon Wireless after having a two year contract with Cingular. Cingular was OK in our area until they become AT&T. Then we had nothing but dropped calls. Now my wife is happy again with Verizon Wireless and that makes me happy!!!

I chose Verizon because that is what my work pays for, and I use my work phone a lot more than my personal. My personal service is Sprint. Sprint has fewer dead spots around here.

I had T-Mobile, but switched over to Sprint in June because T-Mobile didn't have service in the areas I traveled to for business. Also, I got a pretty nice SERO 1250 plan!

Still going smoothly with Sprint.
Not going to give up my SERO plan easily.

I took over one of our AT&T family lines, so that is my primary line now.

My wife is on a Sprint SERO plan and my brother-in-law has my old Sprint SERO plan (which is still on my account).

When I first started having a cell phone again, I went with T-Mo. After that first year, I switched to Verizon after hearing a lot of good reviews about them. I've been with Verizon for about 5 years now.

Since 1995 I was with Voicestream, Omnipoint, TMobile. When they changed the terms of their contracts last summer I terminated mine and left because they wouldn't offer me any good phones for free. In Sept I switched to ATT.

Now I have 2 good free phones that TMo didn't even carry and I get more bars in more places.

AT&T for about 10 years? Love it cant complain, I love it way more then Verizon even though they have great service, I hate there phones and OS. So yeah as long as AT&T is fine for me I probably wont switch.

I voted for TracFone.

The thing I like most about Tracfone is I only have to buy minutes every 90 days to keep my service active instead of 60 days like most other prepaid providers. It averages out to around $7 a month which is good since I don't use my cell a lot anyway.

I had Cingular for 2 years and hated it. I had T-Mobile for a year and like it, but it didn't work in all the areas I traveled. I've had Sprint ever since. It works where others do not. Now I am thinking about upgrading. I almost have enough Sprint phones to open a store

US Cellular for almost 2 years. Free incoming calls cannot be beat. Their EVDO coverage is pitiful though, especially with 4g starting to be experimented with by Sprint.

However, Im still sticking with USC.

I live in Southern California and travel a lot to Mexico. I've had Verizon for about eight or nine years. My cellular is my only telephone as it works so good that I disconnected my land line about five years ago.

Based upon my extensive personal experience and being around people who are always using cellular phones in my presence Verizon is in a class by itself in one area: Reception. In fact I never had a telephone conversation with my cellular telephone where the person I was speaking could tell I was using a cellular.

AT&T is the second most common where I am but it has a lot more dead areas than Verizon.

At least in Southern California Sprint is in a class by itself for poor reception. In fact I can usually tell all most immediately when I am talking to someone on a Sprint phone who is in Southern California.

Verizon Wireless because they work the best. And Nextel iDEN because of PTT!

Recently switched back to Verizon from T-Mobile. I like T-mobile but the reception isn't as good as Verizon, and with my 24% discount (because of my employer) it was too good a deal to pass up.
