Business Use

Businesses are also a big driving force behind VoIP. We have 10-15 VoIP lines all connected to a Virtual PBX and it costs less than $500 a month. No one has a product (that's not VoIP based) that can come remotely close to the price/features ... especially not the Verizon, AT&T, or the MSOs.

Traditional PBX installs are going away. The last time I attended a QOS class which many VOIP engineers attend about 80% of the class was filled with traditional PBX guys retooling themselves for VOIP.

I believe it. Even when I was looking into a traditional PBX back in 2003, the guy strongly suggested we connect it using IP phones with some sort of SIP trunking.
