My wife and I have been cell only since... hmm... 2003 I think? I haven't seen a need for a landline at all. -- Blagojevich / Madoff 2012!

| Re: Bye Bye Landline ... and VoIP You must not have understood the sales rep when you signed for up your service. Mobile to Mobile calling ---AT$T to AT$T is always free any day of the night. Nights generally start at 9 or 7. Earlier if you pay extra- never an added bonus-especially with ATT.
And with MetroPCS,Cricket, and Revol.com all teaming up and roaming on each others network and thanks to the VZW and Alltel Merger Unlimited cell phone plans for $37 per month will be expanding all over.
ATT and their plans will be a thing of the past. Hello UNLIMITED Local, Long distance, voicemail, call waiting, 3-way calling, unlimited texting and unlimited 411 service for $47 per month. available for $37 for just voice calling.

Not hardly.. not for some time to come. You do understand WHY 'per minute' plans were the way they went, right? .. nothing more really than a way to control a limited resource.
You can slap an unlimited price plan on a service and think that the industry is turning around to an all you can eat pricing point, when in reality their doing it as a customer grab.
Cell towers can only hold so many conversation at a time no matter how you price the monthly service but in the end, there is still a crowd control problem that these all-unlimited plan providers ARE going to face.
Also, unlimited 411 still uses minutes where that applies. Free 411 has been out now for a while with services like google 411, so in fact, everyone has access to free 411 if they want it. I also wouldn't wish MetroPCS's version of texting on the people I hate.
