how would i even find the right spot to enter the code? let alone figure out what to put in for the code not sure

You have to enter the command in Terminal.

Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

At the moment, No. But if you go to the official Apple website you can view information and pictures of different widgets before you download them.
