[Thunderbird] Can't Start Thunderbird

I installed Thunderbird and it ran OK. I messed up the local settings global folder. I have 2 mail accounts. The 1st one showed up but the 2nd one was listed as Local. I couldnt find how to change it so I deleted the profile. I went to restart Thunderbird and it said it was already running. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but I get the same error message. I checked process explorer but did not see an entry for Thunderbird. Anyone know how to fix this?

If it were me, I would delete the "Thunderbird" directory in
Application Data
Local Settings\Application Data

(both under your home directory). I'm pretty sure that will result in Thunderbird seeing you as a new user with no existing profile, so you get to make a fresh start.

If you have Vista, then those directory names might be changed from what I have listed.

Tried that.
Deleted the Mozilla directory.
Uninstalled Thunderbird.
Reinstalled Thunderbird.
Go to start Thunderbird and it says its running already.

Try using the profile manager switch (-profilemanager) to create a new profile. That should re-sync Tb to the profile .ini file.

Are you sure because the directory is /Local Settings/Application Data/Thunderbird

The Mozilla directory is for Firefox.

Used total uninstall and uninstalled everything Thunderbird.
Reinstalled Thunderbird.
Put in the -p switch made another profile besides default. Clicked on that and it started up.
Set up a new profile.
Restarted it and removed the default profile from the profile manager and removed the -p switch.
Now its working.

The weird part is the first time I deleted the profile it was located where you said but it was a sub directory under Mozilla.
c:\users\myname\appdata\roaming\mozilla\thunderbird\profiles
In fact Firefox is still there.

Now its:
c:\users\myname\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles

Whatever happened Im not sure (see sig) but its working fine now. The -p switch let me in.

Thanks for your help.
