| [Connectivity] Can someone help me decipher my cable modem log?
bought a brand new Wireless N router. It stays up with no problems, and I can connect to it. I've been dropping internet about every 45min-2hours. The only way I can get the internet back online is to reboot the modem by removing the power cable or logging int the GUI. I've reset to factory defaults, but nothing seems to be working. Here is my speedtest result, which is unbelievably slow in comparison to other times that I have done this. Here is the info that I had in my modem. Model:SB5100

Perhaps your downstream power, which is a little low (although still within DOCSIS specs), intermittently drops enough to be too low for the modem to function. Verify that all of your connections are tight.
Your upstream power and downstream signal/noise ratio look fine (at least at time that you measured them). |

| Looks like you need a tech to come out the t# timeouts mean there is a problem either cable side or the modem has gone south and needs to be replaced. Most likely a splitter has decided to fail or a fitting ids wrong and it needs to be replaced but several things can cause thin ranging from line amps needing to be returned or parts replaced to just a modem swap. Call in, get an appointment, and in the mean time try to log signal occasionally when it is up, make sure your fittings are tight on the wall and the modem back [not wrench tight but finger tight, wiggle the cable with a free hand while tightening to ensure you don't just have thread resistance from pressure and its really loose still. |
