chpalmer : Sorry but I dont read minds and don't know your experience. So thats why I suggested those tests. Dont take it personal.

I have the identical cable modem myself and can say its probably the best Ive ever worked with. But you could of had a bad one. +15dBmV to -15dBmV is docsis spec. So you know that the manufacturers will try to save money and make them not work any better than that. Optimal on downstream is as close to 0dBmV as possible and the lower the better on upstream as long as upstream snr is good. The outer limits are never optimal. The upstream side being as high as your is always worries me. I want to see under 50dBmV. It just means they have the transmitter turned up in your modem so the node can receive your signal. Wave techs are supposed to try and get better numbers than absolute docsis specs. But if its working during the day you have your proof that the packet loss isnt related to your drop.

To the other poster, the Sequim area has many systems that must have been built by the same engineer because they are all on similar 10. subnets. I didnt know the cable system was one of them. Our Qwest supplied Olypen dsl account is on a more standard subnet. My shop is south of Carlsborg.

My home in the Port Orchard area is all 24.113. before it goes on to the Noanet network.

Good luck!

Come on WAVE fix this node in Sequim, WA

skyhawk21 : If Wave does not get off their butts soon and replace this node/router/gateway im gonna go with qwest. I had an uptime on modem and router both linksys of 45 days with my modem capped speed 24 hours a day 7 days a week, then since the week beginning December 15th, speeds up and down, cable modem doesnt want to connect, signal is fine when modem is connected.. Yet Wave says its me, its my cable modem, its me using bit torrent, its me, me, ME!!! Its not me its their network, I was a telecommunications specialist in the Army for 8 years. troubleshooted voice and data communication with the ancient us army crap radios and old cisco routers. I think I know when its not my side.. Anyhow heres the evidence tonight 7pmish on the 4th of JAN 2008 in Sequim, WA!!!

The traceroute shows my first and second hops to 4.2.2.1 big internet backbone for west coast.. my first and second hops are giving me high ass pings that are unstable all day which cause my speeds to be crap, the ping windows in last screenshot show that. as i type this its even worse... how is it my fault WAVE if my first and second hop which is your crap equipment is whats making it so i cant use the internet that i pay for as a customer.. maybe its overloaded, maybe its faulty, maybe you guys are using bittorrents, maybe one of your non paying customers or employees are uncapping there connections(hacking their cable modems) to take all your bandwidth.. FIX IT!@!!
<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">
