AT&T has the shi**iest 3G coverage in the S.F. Bay Area! Edge is the only reliable service in our area!! On my iPhone 3G, and a family members LG CU500V, Edge is the only type of service that does not drop out during a drive of 4 blocks or more. The 3G in any other city in the Bay Area aside San Francisco itself is absolute crap. On certain streets, you get 3G service, but on others, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
at&t NEEDS to improve their network in the Bay Area before making this move, or else there will be a LOAD OF PISSED OFF CUSTOMERS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. In some large areas (malls, shopping plazas, etc.), 3G is only available during the late evening or early morning, when no one is using their cell phones. During the day, 3G is not available. I would think that there is a MAJOR CAPACITY PROBLEM IN THE SF BAY AREA, that really needs to be fixed before this is done.

| Sir, you said, "you are using he LGCU500 with your whole family using it henceforth, that is first generation 3g handset," and second of all, It is outdated phone wise, and more then likely its a outdated sim card, replace all of your sim cards. I did in mine, and I noticed a big time difference in dropped calls, and which are basically done, and my phone has unbelieveable signal strength, I am in the Racine, Wisconsin area with 3g coverage, and I mean wow big time improvement, speed, and reliability wise on the phone, and the sim card powering the signal. Its the not the AT&T Network. Its more then likely outdated sim cards, and phones on the users behalf, "Read this if you care to you will understand what I mean." | |

thanks for the suggestion. The SIM cards in both phones are new (within the last three months), and the service on BOTH phones (iPhone 3g *Software version 2.2*, and LG CU500V) is really bad.
Secondly, you do not live in my area, so you do not know what my issues specifically are.
