Re: Very Confused! How to set up a Linksys behind the 2Wire? I just configured mine.
1. Turn off DHCP on the 2wire modem
2.Give the 2wire modem an IP address on the Linksys subnet. lets say 192.168.1.254.
3. Configure the WAN settings on the linksys router to manual and set the gateway or wanIP to 192.168.1.254 subnet 255.255.255.0. and also set the DNS to it also.
4. Configure the gateway in the lan settings of the linksys router to 192.168.1.254.
If you do IPCONFIG from a computer, the settings should look like this.
IP ADD - 192.168.1.XX
DHCP Server - IP of your linksys
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
Gateway would be - 192.168.1.254 or IP add of your 2wire modem.
Hope this helps, i don't know what the exact menus for that router are called, but it should be something similar. |
