Who's the bigger idiot?
This guy?
Or the people who read what he says and dump their stock causing these companies stocks to plummet? |

| I'd but VZ now but I gotta pay bills. Maybe in a bit.
One thing's for sure: I'll take Verizon FiOS over U-Verse, and Verizon DSL over ATT DSL. Both telcos are rather lame in their wireless offerings, but Verizon seems more progressive than ATT, and their wireless customer base, which has a high ARPU, will soon be the largest in the US. And FiOS is priced higher than UVerse because services provided are better, at least for the internet. I'll pay 70 for 20/20 fiber over 65 for 18/1.5 that degrades if youzre online.
Verizon never has to upgrade their last mile ever again, ATT does...and copper degrades much quicker than fiber.
Verizon and ATT both have internet backbones, so I'd call it a wash there. But Verizon is piping that backbone to customers with FiOS to a much larger extent than ATT is. And ATT is capping. Verizon all the way. Short T for all it's worth (*shrugs* not much). iPhone schmiPhone. It's a premium product that has to be heavily subsidized, and the ARPU minimum is so high that people will be turned off. Wireless and very high speed internet are the growth areas...plus triple play if you're good enough at all three plays. Verizon is coming out with VoIP soon, with tons of features. So they win. |

1 edit | Pretty much... Verizon (and Verizon wireless) are a bit more agressive as a company than AT&T is.
POTS: Both rape customers for it DSL: AT&T is definately cheaper, and cheaper to bundle Video: VZ has a more desirable product from a customer standpoint. AT&T 'may' have a decent product, but has restricted itself by assuming that nobody has more than 1 HD set (or more than 1 HD set running at a time). This will haunt them in the future. Internet: VZ with FiOS is the better product...period. Uverse is capped by the last mile. Wireless: Varies by area. VZ has sold itself as a superior product, but is also a walled garden. AT&T 3G network isn't complete, but has potential as it has a simpler upgrade to LTE than VZW does.
In general, IMO, AT&T has stuck its neck out less, and has less debt to hang out to deploy Uverse... but then will have to keep updating it. VZ, on the otherhand, has more risk, but should be able to come out without significant upgrades to infrastructure once FiOS is deployed.
Both have decent stock values. Want to see 'poor' look at either Sprint or Qwest.

| Reading these boards is very entertaining. People speak like experts when it so happens they have no idea what they are talking about. I prefer making sure I have my facts correct before posting on a website.
Currently, all my services are with ATT (Home phone, internet, TV and Wireless). Besides home phone I have the premium packages for everything else.
Internet-18mbps down/1.5mbps up TV-U400 (89 HD stations) (2HD/2SD streams at one time) Wireless- iphone unlimited talk and data
All things added up brings my monthly service bill to just north of $300...
WHile you all rip att about the last mile you fail to realize that they are milking the copper for all its worth. TO be honest, it wouldn't suprise me if in 2 or 3 years ATT to announce that a majority of the last mile has been replaced with fiber. |

You and I live in different worlds.
Just north of $300/month is my mortgage.
I can see where $300+ may seem small to someone living in areas of California where median home prices are half a million dollars and their incomes are substantial. In my world, it's crazy money to be spending on phone and a wire attached to the side of my home. |

| I agree.... and $300/month for that service is more than 3x what I pay for service... and I think that what I pay is still too much. Of course, I'd love a $300/month mortgage... I have nieghbors paying $3000/month mortgage (and going into foreclosure) -- Canada = Hollywood North |

It's always funny when some clueless dude talks about others not having a clue... and he claims idiocies like 89 "HD" stations etc...
...wake up, kid - you're clueless. Your so-called "HD" channels usually SD upconverted to 1280x1080i@low Mbit...
...unlimited iPhone data, ummmm, suuuuure...
...STFU and listen first, that's my advice to you, kid. -- [BQUOTE=[user=bicker]]Waaaa waaaa waaaa. You just want what you want and don't care to factor in what is right or true. Your perspectives are un-American, and deserve far more ridicule than I'm prepared to pile on them. [/BQUOTE] |
