I am not clear about this "manufacturing" thing. But from my pre-purchase research and 8 days testing, it turns out to be good.
Mind giving more details how these two are manufactured? I am interested.

TP-LINK modems also use broadcom chips, like in ST-516, which are thought to be good.
Manufacturing of a modem does not depend on the chipset it uses. Period.
