SkyFire : Yes you would think that ATT would have planned it out better. You would be surprised at some of the areas that are receiving uverse. I was shocked when I was dispatched to splice 2 cabinets in the montana vista area. Its fine that they want to give the residents out there service but I don't know what good a vrad will do with all the customers being over 5000 ft out.

TW in El Paso

Don Slade : I would think that my neighborhood would be a prime target for AT&T. The neighbors I've spoken to about the condition of the TW service all say they'd switch if they had another way to get high speed internet. The neighbors with sat dishes have no high speed data but great TV, the ones with TW have mediocre high speed data and TV reception. Our household needs the data access for my wife's business.

But even the POTS lines in the neighborhood are bad. When I had to use dial up I would barely get a 21k connection, and that was with a clean line run directly from the modem to the SBC/AT&T box by the curb to test with the SBC tech. His response was that the area wiring was old and needed updating but that no plans for that were in the future.

No new cabinets in the area. I'm pretty vigilant about those things because I know what they are for.
