the point is to be safe instead of fretting over mcafee and any other av that does the same, all other points are minor
Yes but, the fact that program no longer works unless i renew it, make me very unsafe. Basically, they only let you use it for free 1 year and then you either renew it or you can use it. To me that is a big no no...will put some other program in tomorrow as no way i am going to pay mcafee for another year.

Hence why it is a "rant" . The point of the rant is to fret and complain about something.

why would want to use expired av and not current definitions? get a new one as you said there are so many to chose
Well that's not really the point. The point is that it is not letting him use a scan when the subscription is supposed to pay for UPDATES. After the subscription is out you should still be fully allowed to scan with it to your hearts content, whether or not it is helpful (and 1 day old definitions are still quite helpful) .

I would have updated today...didn't get around to it as computers were not being used during this extended holidays. It's just the fact that they don't let yo scan your computer that is stupid.

I know we have rant forum but this seem to be more appropriate for this forum being it's regarding Mcafee antivirus program. I am running Mcafee antivirus program on all of my business computers being that i can control everything off one computer. The program expired at the end of the year and I haven't renew the subscription. Not only can i not download definitions(i knew about this) BUT, i also can't scan computer until i renew subscription. So what the hell am i paying for, program for year year or updates of definitions? This to me is totally stupid, they are basically forcing users either to switch to another program(which is what i will likely do) or renew subscription.

Mod:If you feel this is better suited for rant forum, please move it.
