[modem/router] Westell 7500 lights

I was wondering if somebody could tell me if the internet and the wireless light on the Westell 7500 are supposed to flash. I just switched to dsl and am having a hard time getting on the internet. Everything seems extremely slow when it does work at. if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Re: [modem/router] Westell 7500 lights

Yes the lights should flash to indicate data is being transferred. Are you sure you have the Filters installed on all the connections to the land line phones and NO FILTER on the line to the modem/router?

Also, you might want to try connecting direct to one of the ethernet ports or the USB port to eliminate possible wireless connection problems.

If all the above checks out you can check your modem status by going to »192.168.1.1/
Then if you go to System Monitoring -> Advanced Status -> Transciever Statistics you can cut and paste the information into a message here and some of the experts can help interpret the stats.

Besides posting up the transceiver stats as mentioned by the above poster, also include a speed test from www.speedtest.net
