Sure by downloading headers. Sometimes it pays to know the old method on how to use newsgroups. Not saying you don't. How often have you had to contact your current news provider? I've used Astraweb for over a year and only raise a support ticket with them once when I first started. If the newsfarm is acting up they will post something in the news area of the website. I have received a reply on the weekend. Steve or someone is always around just do not always reply. Depends on what you are requsting. How often do you need support? In the 16 months I have used Astraweb, have contacted support twice--nothing serious then. If Astraweb servers are having problems the techs there. Many have said they are closed on the weekends...so send something in Friday night, you have to wait till Monday morning / afternoon, but during the week, within the same day.

Yes but they are ranging from $ 7,90. The usenetserver deal to sign up for $ 7,95 per month for 1 year unlimited usenet access is a better deal.

Remember that if you sign up for the usenet server special of $ 10 a month, you won't be able to upgrade your account to the same package for only $ 7,95 per month, because you are not a new customer to them anymore and they won't accept the upgrade or sign up.

Cheaper? This is a VERY good deal that Astraweb has going. How little do you want to pay for UNLIMITED access? Cheaper? Compare this to what Giganews charges and you won't complain about the price.
