Portland, OR | Verizon is not Competitive
I feel Verizon mistake not offering an VDSL option for areas not service by FIOS. As it stand it doe not make sense for me to pay for just 3.0Mbps when I can get 12Mbps form Comcast. DSL is not competitive with cable.

It would be stupid to assume Verizon is employing FIOS every where. I live in Portland all single occupancy home have FIOS but not my apartment complex of 300 units or any other complex.Its been two years since we were promised a solution, now we have Blast (12mbps) but no FIOS why bother with Verizon DSL. |

Many areas may never see FiOS - they may qualify for decent DSL though.
Its expensive and slow going to deploy FTTH.
Adding a DSLAM these days (or remote terminal) is relatively quick and cheap(er). |
