Hopefully AT&T does some thing U-Verse along those lines.

The whole thing is kinda silly. It only works on a few select Verizon phones. It should work on all phones with the ability to access the internet, but they cornered themselves with proprietary software that takes way too much time to test and implement on each device.

They charge an extra $4 over a standard DVR. ($19.99 vs. $15.99) The Home Media DVR allows you to stream media from your PC to your TV along with some other features, such as playing back recorded shows on multiple TV's from one location. So the price increase is integrated into other services.

Still, the whole thing is poorly implemented. I should, and would like to program my DVR from any device with access to the internet, but I don't need the other features.
