Who cares how great the serivce is if you can't get it. I can't get Sprint in my area. They don't seem in hurry to want me as a customer. So Verizon gets my business. | |

Altel is not available in my area but had great reviews (and was gobbled up by Verizon.) Just because AlTel was not willing to offer me service doesn't mean they were a bad company. Judging a few of their plans, I would have signed with them too.
Sprint is available in most areas as is ATT, T-Mobile and Verizon. There are some places Verizon is not as is there are places other companies don't service.
My statement still stands. Verizon might be in a lot of places but their customer service was horrible IMHO. | |

If you dont hate sprint why do you want them to go under?
This phone will be launched on other networks in the future, as they announced they have a GSM version coming soon.

So Verizon gets my business. You implied Sprint did not care about you simply because they chose not to service your area and that Verizon does.
As for the exclusive part, it's all about most bang for the buck. Verizon had the opportunity for the iPhone but said no because they wanted more money than Apple was willing to let go. They went to ATT and that seems to have paid off since half of the number ports to the iPhone were from Verizon.

Imagine what would have happened if the iPhone went to Sprint.
T-Mobile has already signed with Danger (their Sidekick line which is now owned by Microsoft) and with Google and Android (with their G1 phone.) All carriers have Blackberries to a point as well as an assortment of Windows Mobile phones. If this new thing takes off, it could go well for Sprint and Palm. | |

Sprint has 20-30 million customers and they are the number 3 carrier. Sorry you live in the middle of nowhere Tennessee and it doesn't make sense for them to deploy service to your area. | |

Maybe Sprint asked for the status as a way TO get customers. You clearly have no concept of how a business operates. You think AT&T taking the iPhone with all the BS requirements that goes with it was due to their size? Do you think that the iPhone didn't contribute in part to their growth? sheep will flock to toys.. maybe this is the toy that people will go for.. there are palm fans out there just as there is crack-berry fans and the iPhone fans. | |
