| Definitely worth the value
I got the AT&T Naked DSL service. It is great. No phone line, only one price to pay, no deposit, and they are paying for the modem with a rebate check to me.
Installed, the modem itself reports an 8.2Mbps downstream and 512kbps upstream connection - actually 2Mbps faster down than reported. No complaints here.
AT&T is having some hard times internally right now. The lack of communication between AT&T and the consumer is where I complain about, AND the AWFUL way they have you install the modem too. You HAVE to use their WINDOWS BASED, IE SOFTWARE in order to set up an AT&T account for the DSL to work. And they also changed the installation date on me without my knowledge.
Those problems aside, the line technician was top notch, figured out all my wiring problems like a pro, and when I plugged everything in, it all worked on the first shot (after a few hours on the phone getting the DSL activated). |
