1 edit | Greetings, and slingbox question Howdy from somewhere on the highways!!! I was given a slingbox for xmas, which once I get home will hook up to my cable.
On the road I am using an unlocked Samsung Blackjack II as a tethered modem on ATT, most of the time I am in 3g coverage, but sometimes I find myself in only edge coverage.
I don't plan on installing the sling mobile app on my phone because when I want to watch TV I want to at least be able to kick back in bed.
I was wondering how the video performance (Buffering and stopping) would be on 3g as compared to edge with the slingbox. My broadband at home is 10/768 cable.
I do watch HULU sometimes, but that's about it.

I find the Slingbox HD does pretty well at low bandwidth. My old Sling A/V isn't too bad either. I haven't tried to watch it on my Verizon Broadband card in a while so i'm not sure.
Honestly it'll look better on 3g. And video performance and buffering issues are two different things. The video performance changes depending on bandwidth. |

I have a slingbox pro hd and have used it for years. Picture quality depends on internet signal quality. I have used it on my Blackjack Cellphone with 3g and it works great. In hotel rooms and with my laptop it is iffy. Sometimes it works ok but most times its not watchable. |
