 | DailyMotion inaccessible? I can't seem to connect to dailymotion.com. Are they blocking Canada? I've tried with several browsers on several machines and different ISPs (Teksavvy in Toronto, iWeb in Montreal).
Does anyone know what's going on? |

 | What operating system are you using?
The only that's in common is that all my connections go through a Linux box at some point. But this is strange. |

donoreoPremium join:2002-05-30 North York, ON | Mac at the moment, but used one of my Linux boxes to check and it is fine too. OS would not make a difference. It is probably a DNS issue. I use 4.2.2.1, .2, and .3 -- The irony of common sense, it is not that common I cannot deny anything I did not say |

 | reply to MarkRose Its not a DNS issue |
|
 | reply to MarkRose I'm experiencing the same issue. I'm able to connect from the office but not from home. |
|
 | reply to MarkRose I have had the same issues accessing DailyMotion, using Teksavvy. I have done some troubleshooting and had interesting results which I will post later (when I am at home). I have no solution so far. |

 | reply to MarkRose no problem with videotron |
|
 | reply to Quake110 It pings no problem. If I go to »www.dailymotion.com, it redirects to »www.dailymotion.com/ca and the server never responds.
Everything pings fine. |

donoreoPremium join:2002-05-30 North York, ON | For me it goes to »www.dailymotion.com/ca-en and loads fine. -- The irony of common sense, it is not that common I cannot deny anything I did not say |

 | Looks like they fixed it!
I wasn't able to access it for at least a week. |
|
 | Yup, it's fixed. I'm able to access it now. |
|
 | reply to MarkRose Yep looks fixed.
FWIW I did some troubleshooting. Pings and traceroutes worked fine. I could even telnet to port 80, it would just hang and not reply to my request.
Through ping I determined that the maximum packet size before packets got lost was 302 bytes (274 bytes + header for ping). That size or below, I got ping replied fine. Anything above, the replies got lost along the way.
The minimum MTU possible on Tomato is 576 (and that is supposed to be the minimum for routers too). 302 was not possible, and that's where I was left. Now it works again.
Transient network issues. Wee. |
