Re: Single-link MLPPP on Windows with Virtualbox (instructions)
said by Guspaz:Thanks yet again! Forwarding was instantaneous. The moment I clicked + I went back to green! It felt good to know I didn't miss somethign obvious for a change.
Did you follow step 29?
As for port forwarding, it actually took me a while to figure that out too (I didn't clue in to the "Virtual Server" wording):
More good: This has been running full-bore since around 3:30 AM and has been rock-solid - absolutely perfect. It also solves a weird problem I had with Windows log-in where I was still suffering from the Bell throttle on my upstream: at 6:00 PM every day I would be cut to 23 max - and I had to reduce that to about 10 in able to bring my downloads back to decent speeds. No longer the case here - a real bonus!
MTU: Yes, I did follow every line in your excellent directions. I double checked & ZeroShell reports back properly: ppp0: mtu 1487 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 3
BUT... There's also this: ETH00: mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 1000
I guess this is the problem. If so, can I safely change it? And if so, what would be safe? (I was fully functioning as high as 1480 and as low as 1454, havent' tried anything beyond that range.)
I can't thank you enough for all this help.
Btw, if you're keeping track of such things, this is running on a very weak little notebook. The CPU is an Intel T5200 which isn't even acknowledged by Intel, but at least I have 3 GB Ram (though Intel shared chipset.) And it's Vista.
EDIT/UPDATE: After a(n unintentional) reboot, I'm able to read the WaPo and I see it's going be pretty damn cold. No idea why this righted itself but it did. I'll pipe up again if the same problem re-occurs.
