said by texans20:Considering the economic crisis cell phones are becoming a luxury for many people, and this pricing couldn't come at a better time. Unlike Crickit's crappy coverage, Sprint's iDEN coverage is rather impressive so you will have good service in most populated towns.

Will it work for everyone? No. Some people will want trendy crap phones like the iPhone and many people live in rural areas where perhaps only Verizon has decent coverage. However for a no-contract unlimited plan with fairly decent coverage and no hidden fees this may change the cell phone market up a bit. It's great for those who just want to talk and text, and don't care much about data services. It's also another blow to local wireline phone providers. I may suggest my parents get this, actually.
Maybe it's just me, but, lately I dont see cellphones as a luxury, I see them more of a necessity, a landline on the otherhand is a luxury that I would nix if times got tough.
