I hope they find this jerk and I dunno put him in a cell and dump hydrochloric acid or something.

This is definitely one of those times where the "an eye for an eye..." should come into play as far as punishment is concerned. Cage 'im up, and hose him down with Drano and Clorox. Wait a few hours, and then give him medical treatment.

as much as I hate to say it I kind of wish the perp would have just killed the dog outright instead of letting it suffer.

I mean if you are going to rob a house and the dog doesn't know better hell give him a bone or something while you rip the occupants off.
