 | 2 Wire Gateway - Red Light on Internet question? Yesterday my conection took a dump and I had a red light on the Internet light of my 2 Wire gateway.
After about 10 minutes all was fine and the light was back to green and I was back up and running again.
Is this a problem with my gateway or an outside AT&T DSL problem? |

tel601 join:2005-08-11 Picayune, MS | Red internet light means the modem failed to connect to the ISP after a number of tries. This could be a number of issues ranging from a bad password to the dslam or radius server going down. Since it came back on with no change on your end it was more than likely a ATT network issue which has been resolved. |

Here's the url for that 2wire page gateway.2wire.net/xslt?PAGE=J34 |

wayjacPremium,MVM join:2001-12-22 Indy kudos:1 | To me it looks like your line had enough noise for the PPPoE session to lose contact INF 2009-01-16T14:50:39-05:00 ppp: ppp0: No response to 3 echo-requests
Contact is restablished INF 2009-01-16T14:53:57-05:00 lmd: pppoe0: up with service: (default), ac: GSVLFLMA63W-8Y034090502387 on bridge1
There are two of the "No response to 3 echo-requests" events The first event lasted about 4 minutes The second event lasted about 2 minutes |
|
 | So it's not a faulty gateway? |
|
|
|
wayjacPremium,MVM join:2001-12-22 Indy kudos:1 | I don't think the 2wire is faulty The "No response to 3 echo-requests" is normal, the log should have 4 maybe 5 pages I'm sure you'll find that message on the other pages
The echo-requests are used to check the connection |
|
 | Thank you very much for the help. |
