Re: [Internet] I used 13 Gigs in a day!? O_O Well stop downloading everything off the internet!
Ask yourself this before you download the next file.. will I use it in the next 6 to months to use a year or longer? If the answer is no, don't download it.
I rarely put a dent in my 90GB cap, and I have a server, email, blackberry server, and websites going 24/7. Plus I manage to play a little WoW and download some porn.

Why shouldn't I download a 5gb HD movie that I will throw away 2 hours after it's done downloading it?
If you find yourself asking those questions, it's time to switch from Bell to a less repressive ISP. |

Leathal And my answer to all those questions is YES.
Thirst for knowledge knows no bounds on the internet, and i for one have a duty to myself to collect and store as much as I can as quick as I can
It can never end. I want to see it all =]
I dont play a little WoW or download a little porn. I explore the inner and outer depths of our Digital World and with that comes vigintillion amounts valuable Data available for you at any given time.
To put it simply: There is no time to think when this much information is presented before you. You just give it all you got with your connection. (Again, it is what you paid for, right ?)
I feel like im in Heaven. |

In today's world this is no longer the case. Bandwidth is dirt cheap and the backbone now exists. I understand your statement if a user who pays lets say $10 a month uses 1TB thats abusive. But, alot of us pay in the $50 - $120+ range. The main reason I have my fast connection is for quick download of large files and the ability to not care what I download. |

| Even if your dirt cheap bandwidth is 10c per GB (which I personally believe is way too low a figure, but anyway, just for argument's sake I'll go with that), 1 TB is STILL $100 in bandwidth costs alone, so unless you're willing to pay more than your $120 per month as a minimum, you're not letting the ISP make money.
If you were to go with what I suspect is more realistic in the 25 - 50c per GB range, then unless you're paying $275-525 per month, you'd be costing an ISP money. |
