Selective outbound caller id block feature

Forgive me if this is already widely known...

Pulled the owners manual off the web for the Grandstream HT502 and saw by pressing #30 it will block my caller id to be sent on all calls and #31 allows caller id to be displayed again.

Now the neat feature, I picked up line 2 and did #30 and after testing, Line 1 when calling out displays caller ID but line 2 shows "private" on outbound caller id.

Neat, but anyone who wants to use these features should test them out first in their own configuration.

A feature on the ATA may not always be supported by the Voip provider. Could be embarrassing with something like caller ID blocking....

True and as my other post states, I have now found that when I do this on Voipo, I cannot retrieve my voicemail until I remove the caller id block or use the other line that was not blocked...

So, if I use this method with VOIPo, I can have any combination of Caller ID Blocked/Unblocked on my 2 Channels (4 possibilities)?

If this is true, I will ask VOIPo to remove my "permanent" block. They set this up at my request, but also told me there is no way to do "selective" unblocking at this time.

So, is there any downside to removing it at the "VOIPo level", and using thus method as I need it?
