A good laugh, picky techs... This is for you!

LMAO I just stumbled across these guys this morning. No clue really on what they do but it LOOKS like they say they can clean up and structure communications cabling/installations.

Have a look at some of their pics and for anyone who seriously knows what they're doing, try not to laugh too hard.

I can GAR RON TEE they'd never come near anything of mine

I'm gonna guess cable strain is one problem.

I could list dozens of boneheaded moves done in their pics that any good installer would just never do. Considering these guys are supposed to be specialists in this exact field, there's something MAJOR wrong with them.

It looks like all they did was put some velcro cable wraps in.

They just made it *look* pretty

Hehehe the first image you see is supposed to be the "after" pic lol.

I seriously want to call these guys and ask them if they're for real.

Is it me or is there a mirror in the first picture? Looks like someone threw a bunch of stuff in a rack at their house and took pictures.

I thought that too but I think it's the reflection from the inside of the glass door on the rack.

Well, it looks like they moved a few switches around in that first rack too. I like how it seems like they only touched the cat5, and left everything else as is.

So they moved a few things around, put some velcro on and it still looks like poop.

Fancy. Not.

I don't care if someone uses zipties to secure their wiring, as long as they dress things down correctly and use some kind of thought pattern when doing something.

Forgive the ignorance but I'm curious

can you guys list things wrong with how they "fixed" it up? Seriously, I just don't know. You're all laughing while I sit here wondering "Derr I think it looks purty!"

Good question for sure. I do think it would be a benefit to list what could be changed for others to see. Only problem with the above example, is that I want to scream "Everything".

There's way too much to even list.

Those poor yellow cables!!

hahaha

First problem I see is they ran the cables between the rack. they should of mounted some cable management on the sides of the rack and ran the cable through them. I hope the customer isnt' planning on mounting any more equipment.

Problems i see...

those yellow wires are too tight.

the blue cat 5 cables should be in a horizontal cable manager or a vertical cable manager on the side.

some of the wire bundles are zip tied and are hanging right in front of some of the components.

those are just a few...

now, in their defense, i am not sure how a job like this is done...maybe the company gave them a budget and they didn't have enough for management panels...who knows.
