| Disable - "Active Update-AOL Core Services-Software Update"
If you want no part of this process AOL is now forcing on us (we never had "updates to enhance our online experience", ever since I used AOL version 3.0 and up).
Delete the file named "stic.dll".
You can find it doing a search "files or folders". Log on to your computer as "Administrator" In Vista you need to click "Advanced Search" in the "Location" drop down choose "Local Disk C" (or where you have all your programs located). Check the box "Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files". Try deleting with AOL closed and nothing of AOL running.
