Re: ISDN Tech Assistance PLEASE The RJ45 is for inside wiring connection. On the 804 you'll have to connect an ethernet cable from the RJ45 jack to the ISDN U interface on the 804. It's possible to use a regular phone cable to do this is you're careful about lining the center pins on each end.
The RJ11 ports on the 804 are for connecting telephones to to make and receive voice calls.

Whether or not the RJ45 that needs to be installed uses the same wiring scheme as for ethernet I don't know. A bit of googling finds this: »www.landfield.com/faqs/LANs/cabl···-20.html
Time permitting I might be able to take a picture or 2 of the wiring in the RJ45 that AT&T installed for me back in April if that'll be any use.
You probably won't need an extra line run if you have 3 pairs unless your home is older and doesn't have as many pairs in it or if you have several landlines. |
