That will narrow things down a little.

Unfortunately that is about all you will be able to figure out until the company announces. Might be a First-Mile customer upgrade but it may just as well be some sort of trunk cable linking internal resources.

Take some pictures and post them here. Never hurts to strike up a conversation with one of the installer to see what you can learn.

/tom

Neuropel posted : I'm new to the site, and came here out of curiosity after noticing that there is new cabling being run to my area. I live in a rural section of West Central PA and noticed 4 spools of cable being installed on utility poles near my home. The spools of cable consisted of 2 red spools and 2 green spools, and there were also new "hangers" installed on the poles to accomodate the new cabling. Any possibility this could be high bandwidth lines coming into my area? A few years ago, I had comcast (the only cable service in the area at the time) come to check on installing HD for a new TV I had purchased (their website said my address supported HD bandwidth), however when the tech came out he kind of grinned and said this area of western PA (Armstrong county) didn't have cabling to support the bandwidth required for their high speed internet and HD cable services. He DID say however, that our area was going to be one of the first to get some type of new "ultra high speed" cabling.
