MSN can keep email address by using Windows Live, free
Juding from the notices that have been received from Microsoft by customers I've talked to, MSN Premium folks on FiOS/FAST can keep their "@msn.com" address for free by using Windows Live. (They have to pay to keep the other MSN Premium features.)
This makes them, as far as I can tell, the only Verizon customers who can keep their email address after the switchover without having to pay anything.
Am I missing something?
I have uninstalled MSN Premium and I can't seem to use my msn.com e-mail address as a Windows Live account. Windows Live guarantees that Hotmail e-mail accounts are pre-registered, but they say nothing about msn.com e-mail accounts - which is what I got when I registered with MSN Premium. I wasn't using my msn.com e-mail address so it doesn't matter, however I'm going to try re-installing MSN Premium from CD and see if I can confirm that.
Ignore what Fairpoint says - you can't keep your msn.com e-mail address unless you subscribe to MSN, at a minimum cost of $100 per year.
