Long Beach, CA | Verizon Voicewing-TERMINATED Received a letter in the mail today
"We regret to inform you that effective March 31, 2009, Verizon will no longer offer VoiceWing. At that time, all VoiceWing service will be terminated."
I can't believe this.. I've had them since 2006 and have had nothing but flawless connection 100% of the time and even after a medium size earthquake here in Southern California, standard Copper was down but My FIOS service and VOIP were still up and running.
Also, I've read that Verizon is coming out with a new VoIP HUB service.. kinda of wierd they would terminate customers without first offering them to switch over.
Anyway just posting what I got. |

Clifton, VA | I received my letter today. First, Sunrocket! Now, Voicewing! I was already in the process of porting my number to Ooma when the Voicewing termination letter arrived. |

Triple play will cost you more than having their VOIP.. considering that you'll be pay extra Taxes and almost double what their VOIP Cost. Plus, they only offer 3 feature services on their basic Voice. The other feature services are extra fee's. We enjoyed 25 feature's all included in the UNLIMITED PRICE! Guess I can understand now why they dumped their VOIP. MONEY! Even the new but not yet released Digital VIOP is estimated to run $39.99 per month and that's a low estimate, I have seen higher. |

Been looking at their "Verizon Triple Freedom" and it appears I could save money if they allow me to include my Directv and Verizon DSL which I already have. All I need is the phone service. I have been trying to find out if the phone is VOIP or standard land line. I also have a dry loop line which may be a problem?? It's really hard to get info on just what they are offering. Would appreciate any feedback on solving this current problem.
