[POLL]Defragmenters - 2009 Member ChoiceAs defined by wikipediaIn the context of administering computer systems, defragmentation is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in file systems. It does this by physically organizing the contents of the disk to store the pieces of each file close together and contiguously. It also attempts to create larger regions of free space using compaction to impede the return of fragmentation. Some defragmenters also try to keep smaller files within a single directory together, as they are often accessed in sequence. |

I love the control perfect disk gives the user. usb drives are also allowed to be defragged if one needed. The defrag on boot option for system files and page file is the bizomb! I have been using Perfectdisk for years and wont use anything else. I have tried OO defrag and diskeeper....I will stick with Perfectdisk. It's really fast to. |

I use the Windows tool when I am fixing someone's computer.
But me personally, I use Linux. I am not aware of a defrag tool for ext3 filesystem. |
