Re: What the heck is going on in SoCal? - Part 2 Are ALL of you guys who've posted in this thread using RoadRunner service? |
|
 | reply to qtime Shoot. Only 500K in this morning. Must be some thing happening. Usually daytime speed is very nice.
Again, ZIP 91007 area. Any one has similar problems? |

Re: What the heck is going on in SoCal? - Part 2 Same here in El Monte 91732... lastnight was horrible. But I don't have any other options to switch. Even ATT only offers basic 786k, I think they're pack with subscribers too (would like to get their 6.0 Mbps service). Anybody know of another company in the area? Thanks |

 | reply to qtime is anyone still having DNS-related problems? about 40% of the time websites time-out and it takes several minutes before the site loads. it's getting to be annoying.
speeds through torrents and websites are blazing fast though.
i'm in Arcadia 91006. |

Like seriously. I've had around 6 tech guys come by already and none of them knows what the hell is going on.
Should I just send a complaint about false advertising?

 | i'm already using OpenDNS but am still having problems with getting websites loaded the first try. |
|
 | I was previously having the same problem with sites taking a long time to load. It seems like it finally cleared up Thursday evening. This was going on all week, I'm not using the RR DNS servers. I'm in 90066. |

 | reply to qtime What will it take for TWC to admit their network in SoCal cannot handle the traffic in the evenings? I mean this is getting ridiculous. Any one know how the LA City lawsuit is going?? |

Lately, I am getting this message from the cable modem troubleshooting page |

Ok, now I know I should not complain about the upload, but seriously I cannot achieve anything higher than 1746. My modem config upload is capped at 2048. When I had 10/1, the highest upload was 978, but that is much closer to the cap than 1746 is. I have also tweaked (DR TCP) my connection the day after the speed upgraded to 15/2. Is this high downstream level causing the upload to be off by 254 kb/s??? |

2 edits | During business hours, I can download fast like 698.81KB/s for »definitions.symantec.com/defs/20···-i32.exe.
During peak hours lately like at 9 PM PST, only up to 100 KB/sec.
What's going on?
Is RR throttling bandwidths now? I am in 91745. |

en102Canadian, eh? join:2001-01-26 Valencia, CA | reply to hobgoblin Not immediately... I tested everything else first
smtp to other email worked http to pop-server/smtp-server worked
Traceroute worked Only site that appeared to be affected were those 2. Until I had access to another source to test (laptop over same connection) I could only assume that it was an issue at RR's pop/smtp server. -- Canada = Hollywood North |

Could be just overloaded nodes, but if your house is receiving a lousy signal to begin with they should fix it. |
